This is a demonstration of the S.A.F.E. (Standoff Automatic Fingerprint Extraction) system in use in a live setting. The system has the ability to collect hand geometry, full case prints and individual fingerprints from standoff distances of up to 10 feet currently with longer distances being developed. The model demonstrated here works at 2 feet.

Data collected with the system were assessed to be “excellent” as measured by the NIST NFIQ algorithm and when compared to the ink fingerprint by the same subject, the NIST algorithm BOZORTH3 output that the fingerprints were from the same finger with extremely high confidence.
